Dust to Dust
Anticipated, yet unannounced
Until it’s time!
The messy arrival on blood
& mucous & sweat
Unstoppable—out of the birthing body
The new body arrives awashed
With living saline of tears,
emesis, amniotic fluids,
As if all births sourced
from One cosmic ocean
Aliveness by fluidity
Into a messy Life of flowing,
Bleeding, weeping,
Flushing, pulsing,
Mucking, soaking
Drinking, dissolving,
Swirling, seeping,
Then the ebbing
Anticipated, yet unannounced
Until it’s time!
The messy departure on blood
& mucous & sweat
Unstoppable—out of the dying body
The Spirit leaves behind
the body awashed
With dying saline of tears,
emesis, iv fluids,
As if all deaths reSourced
into One cosmic ocean**
Ashes to ashes~Dust to dust
with the messy fluidity
Always the living bridge in between
Life, May we drink it ALL in!
