Momentum

Momentum was my word of the year

When the world shut tight in 2020

It’s flavor of movement in becoming

took an internal spin,

A deeper swallow—

not a delicate tasting under my tongue,

An intense digesting down in my belly

For where I had chosen to move my attention

with the word mOMentum—

move my energy in spaces

Of external connection

by traveling to meet up with friends old and new

In celebration of my 50th cycle of life

Became an impossibility in 2020

My word that I had chosen

to keep me company,

as a warm buoying friend to propel me

along an external path of connection

This word within the restrictions of the world🌀

Summersaulted inside me

Settling down into the tall grasses

of my pelvic grounds, in my wombscape

Under the sun of my solar plexus

A moMEntum of me from within

A movement of nowhere,

yet into the everywhere

My MOMentum held a three word chant

Mom, moment, OM…

MOMENTum of being

movement in faith

growing energy of grounded expansion

Momentum, an energy within

rebirthing my divine creativity—

Moving my prayers

Poetry as Prayer
