Barefoot

On palms of barefeet

Pressing, pushing off,

Twirling, sinking retreat

into summer straw grass

In fields of another family

Held open for our hearts’ taking

A magical celebration, so many

years swirled in the making

Blending birth, bonus, in laws

Love is love is love here & more

On natures beloved dance floor

Everyone invited in

as next of kin,

skin to earth skin

Everyone moved between

As air through trees

Sounding to ground

Everyone heard & seen

As music plays, hips sways

All bodies sing to sky song

In silent prayers of barefoot palms

Hush now, all is well

Oh great family, we all belong

**inspired by the barefoot dancing at my bonus son’s wedding, he like me never wants to have to put on shoes
