Colors Arrival
Just before my departure
The arrival infuses color
Into my packing, packing light
Colors carry no weight
Lifting my pack altogether,
Even lightening my load
As I am leaving behind my beloveds
Yet carrying no weight of longing
As I bring paints of play
Tones of enlightening
of universal creativity
To dance upon my Way
Coloring my departure
as more toward
some unexplained delight
Like a mysterious sunrise
in my cupped palms
pulling me forward along an internal horizon
Than away from
some unexplained exile
Like an unknown shadow
Between my shoulder blades
pushing me back into a forest of banishment
Though colors wrap my skin
Their true power coats within
An arrival toward a horizon
never reached,
yet infinitely colored
by my responses to LIFE’s
unnameable beauty
