Barn Raising

How many weathered hands

To raise the sustainable roof

With joyful applause

How many hopeful hearts

To rebuild a shattered home

With trusted forgiveness

How many opening of minds

To shape the restorative walls

With inclusive understanding

How many seeking souls

To design the doors

to slide & glide for all faiths

How many times

Will new bridges break,

Will front doors be locked

Will windows bulletproofed

How many years Until

What we raise

We raise for hope

What we make

We make together

What we praise

We praise as sacred diversity of Aliveness

What we build

We build for all

May we raise the barn

May we bring forth together

The new Way of life on

One shared earth

**inspired by interfaith conversations at Climate Cafe, my poem is full of questions, not answers, like our climate cafe conversation, we just need to keep asking the questions, and live into humanity’s answer…I hope with love, creativity, joy for the sacred diversity of Aliveness
