EarthSpring
All the elements of life
Returning, renewing from earth
In spectacles of daisies, glorified daffodils
Newest green tips of grasses
Dewy blue bonnets, curiosity of worms
Rain and sun twirling their dance
Over the skin of the earth
In a tickling, a rejoicing
the returning of her aliveness
Goosebumping my skin,
raising my sensations of Aliveness
in the curious wonder of it all
As if Life ever left, the soil or the worm
As if Life ever left, this rock or my bones
As if Life ever left me, witnessing here
As suspended, separate from earth’s spectacle unfolding—
Tingling my skin, twirling my heart
May I remember in my witnessing
my participation in Life’s wholeness,
never an inert bystander,
even during the fallow winter days
arriving for me
during the spectacle of earthSpring,
a tickling still lives within
