Love Letters

Someone I have never met

Sent a letter to someone I love

Someone they have never met—

Yet writing a love letter to them

from The Universe

How can this letter placed

In a mailbox from anywhere

Move the liquid ink in my heart

As if the letter had been for me

At a different time

just after my daughter died

As if the letter had been

the long awaited response

to my letter to Santa as a child

As if the letter had been written

By my future self—

From the Universal Parent in me

Someone I have never met

Inks the page with her love liquid

Spilling across the miles and time

Mailing it to someone she has never met

While I feel the liquid ink in my heart

Moving, swirling, saturating

Sensing the Universal Love palpably

As it streams down out of my eyes,

Tasting salt on my lips,

Rewriting part of the story

within the Great Story

And the salt here today I realize

Are my tears for the World’s sorrow

No longer from my own wounds

Are my tears for the World’s beauty

No longer from my own delight

The salt that I am tasting

Are tears from the love liquid

Pouring through All-that-Is

I wonder if she who writes the love letters

tastes this salt as she licks each envelope…
