Mysterious cracks forming,

On shells of bursting

Outgrowing enclaves

Thrusting, nature’s trusting

An unstoppable growth,

Broken open in waves

Breaking into beautiful—

Birth

Relationships ending,

A straining, until the cleaving,

Chest heaving, tearing apart,

Pushing away with the leaving

To follow one’s Truth of heart

Breaking into beautiful—

Courage

Breaking open, split in two

A morning muffin steaming

To share with another, in union

A stranger or beloved & you

In palms, nourishment gleaming

The bakery, awakening all senses

Breaking into beautiful—

Communion

The smashing, shattering

Ceramic confetti on the floor

The cracking, scattering

Glassware glitter on the wall

Out of anger, absurd accident,

Or celebrations of more

An artist’s mosaic holds it all

Breaking into beautiful—

Passion

Out of comfort zones

Going beyond the known

Changing patterns, or spins

Growing into one’s own

Magic happens, just outside

Over tides, Breaking barriers

Stepping through into glide

Breaking into beautiful—

Creative Evolution

Fractured, broken branches,

Bent, frayed neuron pathways

Like twigs snapping, off shoots

Reaching, Frailty of tiny veins,

Searching eagerly for the Way

The dying hand in mine, spiritually

Held through the darkness,

For whatever’s next, toward the light

Breaking into beautiful—
