The Ride

Oh to be a passenger of time

How it slows, swirls, or rushes

Meeting me always right here

In stunning beauty of the moment

Neither looking back in mirrors

Of nostalgia or regret

Nor fixated forward in screens

Of worry or longing

Oh to let my eyes rest sideways

In the light of each step

inhaling, exhaling time

Like my breath

Oh to Let my body dance

with vibrations of the ride

tapping, pulsing time

Like my heartbeat

Oh how vital to my Aliveness

Is my presence to this…

Whatever THIS wander brings

This is my only Life to wonder

With soft gazes of forgiveness, gratitude

With surrender to the wild ride—

breathing, squeezing&releasing time

Into wide open spaces of joy
