Cairns

Recently in news, a request;

Cairns being taken down

In national parks out of respect

For “leaving no trace” sown

In the environment, and Yet—

We leave traces, seen & unseen

in our loops through life swirls

We leave traces, often shimmering

on echos of conversations pearls

lingering in unfinished zones

We leave traces of our cells

in the maternal blood & bones

Of our birth mothers, with spells

Lingering years later in ribosomes

We leave traces, as we breathe

Stardust lingering in atmosphere

Breathing out CO2 feeding trees

Cycles exchanging across millennium

We must leave traces to survive

Leading, lingering, sharing of ways

Through interdependence we thrive

May cairns & stories interplay

May balanced rocks bring attention

May poetry & stones point the Way

May our traces seen & unseen—

Remind us to recenter our intentions

Blessed be the recentering of our intentions

For love, light, peace
