Tree of Ages
Oh to be aware of time like the trees
Responding to the seasons of Life
with acceptance of returning
trusting in death, the releasing
unfurling without a rush…
growing, healing never ending
Oh to be awake to light like the trees
Turning towards the sources of sun
Wherever we may find our flickering ways
Trusting in the luminous return
after every spin, every drink with darkness
Facing, reaching for bright…
while rooted, planted, sustained by night
Oh to be alert to connection like the trees
Conversing with web of life underneath
Singing with breath of life above
Dancing with branches of Tree of Life—
Dancing with all the generations of those who have come before & all those yet to come
Oh how I wonder if the trees know their age?
Feel their rings painted with the ink of grounded expansion?
All I know is how I feel ALL my ages at once
dancing here in timelessness with THIS forest
Like I am ringed—time tattooed on me in spirals
In reverence to my continuous unfurling with all-that-is
May I be marked forever with wisdom of the trees
May we all grow to be
more like the trees
Blessed be.🌲
