Stop the car!
Glimpse of mountain
At crest of hill
like a shock to my system
My system of seeing
beauty everywhere, my thrill
Stop the car!
With a jolt of sensation
my heart protests, arrests
not one more heartbeat
driving this road crest,
not one more moment to be
Where my eyes are not
completely free to SEE
The surprise glory in front me
Stop the car!
With a jolt of sensation
My lungs protest, arrest
Gasping inhale breath,
just over road’s crest
Mountains thrusting powder white
As if slicing with fresh snow light
through cedar, evergreens
spreading branches with
hands of ancient granite bright
As much as double yellow lines
part the density of forest spines
painting pathways, making way
for my passage here today
Stop the car!
With a jolt of sensation
My mind protests, arrests
Not one more thought,
about driving forward, caught
on this road in circumspect
Stop the car!
Where my dreams may float,
Where my hands may create
Where my heart may soar
Where my breath may sing
Where my joy may dance
Through my system of seeing
With glimpse of mountain
At crest of hill
like a shock to my system
My system of seeing
beauty everywhere, my thrill
Stop the car! Arrest the convoy!
A jolt of sensation—
My ever present Life force energy;
my unshockable JOY
