Circled

For no particular reason

I went left instead of right today

on the circled path,

approaching this tree

from a different swath

in the forest encircling my home,

The forest I feel like arms around

My soft belly, holding softly

whatever the day pulls into my heart

Whatever the day pushes out of my womb

I circled round this side to notice

The circled adornment placed

Here by another,

as if to welcome my presence here;

a shared sense of homing—

A universal inclusion encircling me

As if every tree in the forest becomes

like a front porch of a dear friend

And I am welcome to here

Anytime

To linger or take me leave

To speak out loud or remain in silence

About truths of my heart

Either way

I am seen and heard and held

In the circled front porch of forest
