No Kid Hungry

A primal need, a primal desire

To feed and nourish your child

What an immeasurable impossibility

For both the mother and child

When faced with food insecurity

More than the heart monitor

IV drips, pulse ox, BP measured

More than the NICU ventilator

Breast milk delivered is treasured

A primal need, a primal desire

To feed and nourish your child

An invisible suffering, a silent scream

For both the mother and child

When full pantries are only a dream

More than the well check-ups

Antibiotics, Tylenol and vaccines

More than the diapers & pull ups

Healthy food is the first medicine

A primal need, a primal desire

To nourish your child, to always feed

May no kid go hungry, skip a meal

May no mother be unable to feed

May we all do our part in making the appeal—

That there is enough for all

When we share within natures abundance

Blessed be no kid hungry🙏
