Engendered

Perched here on an impossible plate

Downtown pole topper landscape

Osprey and salmon tangle their gait

Confusing moments of impossible escape

Yet neither free in flight of sky or sea

A blended dance of awkward position

An intimate surrender of being into body

One cannot live without others un-volition

Perched here on an impossible plate

Makes me pause to contemplate

Pulls attention to my intention engendered

What’s on my interdependent landscape

What do I still need to surrender—-

so more may possibly live into their freescape

“This 36 inch pine woodpanel was a test for me.

It took a lot of time, focus and energy but I love the way it turned out.

My name is Adam lewis I’m from the we wai kai nation we are Liǧʷiłdadx̌ʷ ( seaworm/ unkillable things) in southern kwakwaka’wakw territory.

This painting is of a salmon egg and to symbolize its journey and adversities it will face in its life. The sustenance it will provide for many species.  Thank you for looking”
