Reformation

Forming and reforming

Friendships overtime

Intersections of lives

Made parallel for awhile

Then an unexpected left turn

with one part going straight

The streets keep changing

Even though I have cruised

here before, I’m walking now

Outside the cars whizzing

Even faster, sidewalks lunge

And lurch up from aging roots

My steps made carefully

Eyes brought down to earth

Forming and reforming

My path overtime

The intersections of life

Made jagged for awhile

Then an unexpected left turn

With one part going straight

The path keeps changing

Even though i have walked

here before, I’m grieving now

Outside the self that once

Pushed strollers, pushed myself

Pushed through…

to whatever was next

The path dissolving underneath

Forming and reforming

Myself over time

The intersections of Self

Made mysterious for awhile

Then an unexpected left turn

With one part going straight

The Way keeps changing

Even though I have prayed

here before, I am floating now

Outside the realm that

I once was seeking,

Moving more toward One Spirit

than away, a transcendent

integration into timelessness

Blessed be the unexpected left turn

May it become your greatest teacher
