Is your canine waiting
The same as mine?
Beyond any words
Living outside time
Do you dog dream
Of after or before?
Do you wait differently
In your body core?
As we wait, parking
Outside vet hospital
Is your belly barking
Or impatience of tail?
Over hush of clock
Can you hear beats
My mama heart aflutter
Or your pulse in peaks?
Under the silence
of sun breaking day
Your wet nose reads wind
My skin tingles to pray
What is now, in glisten
Here waiting together
Differently we may listen
Yet the same, we weather
