Out-of-Body

An intimacy of vulnerability

I welcome in friendship spheres

At the dentist, mouth agape

The intimacy brings tears

A living meditation of noticing

Awakening my senses, I am here

At the dentist, instruments grind

The noticing elicits more fear

Only this, only now, my choice

I welcome the out-of-body

Taking my spiral dance, my rejoice

Out the window, still embodied

Here I am, sensing on fields of air

My heart leads, My belly relaxes

Music swirling through my ears

Barefoot in dreams of wet grasses

Smells of chemicals fade

to white daisy flowers

Tastes of chalky mint dilute

to wild strawberries showers

Sounds of whirring shift

to breezes in Willow trees

Pressure of scraping becomes

a stone I pick up—pushing

into my hand, bringing ease

An intimacy of vulnerability

My body awakened, curiosity alert

Only this, only now, my choice

I welcome the out-of-body

Taking my spiral dance, my rejoice

Out the window, still embodied?

Here I am, sensing my Aliveness

In the dentist vulnerability chair

I surrender my proprioception

While I travel embodied elsewhere—

I am here. I am everywhere with connection 🌀
