Unanswerable Questions

Can I ask without

Longing for the answer?**

Unanswerable questions

Come with the wind

Like the unseen scent

My dog takes notice of

Takes in with his pauses

Mapping thermal colors & temporality

Mapping creatures coming & homing

Unanswerable questions

Come with the light

Like the flicker arriving in the night

Revealing the life of stars

From 100,000 years before

Showing ancient bright & temporality

Showing space vast & past

Unanswerable questions

Come with the silence

Like the quiet underneath

The breath of unspoken feelings

Sounding of sorrows & temporality

Sounding heart’s voices & choices

Unanswerable questions

Come with the longing;

The temporality,

Stretching us into the future or

Lengthening us into the past

The longing pulling us away from

The felt sense of infinite now—

Knowing, living, loving our Aliveness

Our presence of being here now

Can I ask without

Longing for the answer?

Can I feel the flame of my questioning heart

flickering here, without temporality

Can I hold the unknowable inside timelessness?

Can I live within the skin of now?
