The Morning Show
The cast of characters
Keep changing their clothes
The Clouds flip toile skirts
of pink, purple & blue
The Sea pulls her silks scarves
Of gold, white, silver
The Trees who have already
Flung their bold sweaters
of orange, red, yellow
for Winter’s quiet grays
Keep changing as well
in front of the mirror of sunrise,
readying for the show
of this NEW day
What color will I wear today
Having woken for this display?
Will I fit tightly into the drapes of dreary
Hiding from the world that most
desperately needs more love?
Or
Will I wrap up in the color of possibilities
Showing you my wonder, my joy?
Either way the show keeps going…
Please come find me
In the changing of clothes—
On stage in the improvisational dance
Back stage in the whirlwind of weary or
Above stage in the lighting,
In the luminaries of poetry
Together, I’m certain,
ANY color will be made
More magnificent magentas
More grateful golds
More bearable blues
In your company
Blessed be the Show🌅
