The Grief Wave

Love in its darkest of guises

The grief wave rises—

Gathering fiercely the tenacity

From profound vulnerability

Pushing beyond ledges & lips

Of our lump-throats & aching hips

Toppling over the heart center

A wave of all the love that entered

Flushing out beyond our bones

No holding for grief, no call to atone

Only to let the grief rise, swell

Allowing others to meet our Well

For the love that now lives

Through ALL tides of time, gives

As there is no place our grief

Does not reach, even in hearts disbelief

Like water, the grief wave will wend

For love, unbounded, knows no end

Blessed be our grief; waves born of love
