Underwater

If I could breathe

Underwater, mist

I might never leave

Sink, float, twist…

Casting shadows

Upwards review

Shimmering surface

Blink, swish, true…

If I could breathe

Underwater, trust

I might never leave

Plunge, naked, thrust…

Churning thoughts

Spiraling of deep

Drinking my darkness

Immeasurable seep

If I could breathe

Underwater, salted

I might never leave

Submerge, baptize, exalted…

I am but a humble swimmer

Surrendering my body

In buoyed summersaults

To my Soulfish— I am ready…

To Just let go, dive within

Breathing underwater

Immersion, depths of beyond—

Union with my mermaid daughter
