Making Space
Much like the body
Makes space for new life
New love In pregnancy
The body must make space for grief
Make space for grief in death
Make space for grief in our home
Make space for grief in the world
Make space for loving into
this world of impermanence
As with birthing new life
Love is born through the body
Bared by the body
Expressed by the body
Experienced by the body
Making space in our bodies
For more love
also means making space
For more grief
As if we are mothering
The grieving parts of ourselves AND
The grieving parts of another—
AS within ourselves like a pregnancy
Mothering with loving into
this world of impermanence
Mothering the anger, the confusion, the despair
Not othering—unmothering,
casting out of our bodies
with illusion of our separation
May we then birth more Love
May we then birth more Peace
May we then birth more Justice
In Making space in our own bodies
Perhaps then suffering
will finally be loved free
Making space for the whole of ourselves
Perhaps then we will all be free
