Hushing

I must have written before

Of the deafening Ocean roar

That hushes my body silent

As if she knows my thoughts

As if she knows of the silence

The silence I need to hear

To hear what I am not listening to

Thank you Ocean from before

For your deafening roar

Hushing

Hushing my body,

Hushing this space

Hushing this whole landscape silent

It’s brave to come to meet the Ocean

To hear the grief of fierceness—

The fierceness in myself, unheard

until the body hushed silent

Forgive me Ocean for forgetting

from before

That your deafening roar, reminds me

that I always have mine

Inside my hush
