Death of Fear

Tickling my skin

My breath draws in

Somewhere

between surprise

And fear, in me a rise

The burst of birth

One mamas

last exhale on earth

Giveth over,

A Sacrifice of Self

to Life larger than herself

What is there to fear?

About a heart

So profoundly sincere

When tickling under my skin

Baby fears crawling within

Giveth over,

A surrender of Self

To Life larger than myself

I have nothing to fear

Even as Death hovers near

As my breath draws in

Everything beautiful,

Every being my kin

Oy, even baby spiders

Kissing my skin!
