Search and Rescue

We ask for discernment of colors

Found within the grays & brown

If we let our eyes adjust to earth

Observing what is plain before us

In the realness of blue granite

Precision of green riverrocks

Amber waves of sand grains

In Stashes of orange agates

Purpling of pebbles purpose

Splashes of white quartz

If we give ourselves over to

Spaciousness in our search,

To witness with wild wideness

The possibilities…

The true colors collect

Around our edges

Spilling over & into center

Until an unnoticed footprint in the mud

Then glows leading to another

The pattern of bent blades of grass

Streak like a yellow highlighter

Across a textbook of our story

Drawing arrows for our direction

Our search expands in focus

Of seeing the unseen

Of seeing what was

With our presence

With our attention

Seeing what will be

In our search,

For rescue of the lost

May we find

The lost parts of

Ourselves
