Building Fences

The construct of our walls

Keeping in or keeping out

Leaves some gaps, though small

Letting breath of stones shout

The shapes of where we live

Bending, twisting, or upright

Changes the texture of our give

Alters the angles of our light

How we build the edges

Of where we estate or end

Invites inquiry, pruning of hedges

Encouraging the creative blend

Fences make “good” neighbors

Some would say with smirk

Boundaries made to harbor

Or wooden rails put to work

Yet the construct of our walls

Letting out or letting in

Grow our world or keep it small

Opens or latches hearts within

Let us together build our fences

From peace, faith, love surround

Let laughter be our defenses

And see happiness spread around

Blessed be our edges of blend

May every encounter; to learn, teach

May we know LOVE as never ends

With co-creativity, expand our reach
