Feeding Frenzy
As a pescatarian,
it takes my breath away
The feeding frenzy of birds of prey
Swirls of life within the sky’s enclaves
Meeting schools of life beneath the waves
Who lives and who dies in the balance
Of the chaos or world peace challenge?
Complexity beyond our comprehension
Yet simplicity in primal need of consumption
The feeding frenzy—a despair or delight?
What species will survive our global plight?
At the surface of air & water, a twirl
What elements at play in todays whirl?
As a pescatarian,
I only control one body’s eat
Yet the heart of my pen may influence a retreat—
A return back to just enough in our bowls
Plant based home grown food for souls
Some still go hungry, while others gorge beside
The Haves and have nots;a growing divide
As The feeding frenzy here at the beach
My questions churn within a silent screech
The answers swim somewhere in
Natures school beneath, just beyond our reach
May all come to ponder…
How we will live into the wonder
How we will consume just enough…
While the awe fills us up!
